Although the part of the population formed by elderly and disabled people is a growing segment with great potential from the point of view of demand for different services, the general level of accessibility demonstrates deficiencies:
- Resources generally display a low level of accessibility as they do not guarantee adapting the whole chain of service.
- The professional competence to cover this segment is not optimum given the lack of content inclusion in regulated training.
- There is a lack of rigour in the information on the degree of accessibility referring to resources and services.
- There is no standard accessibility reference that guarantees it.
- There is a lack of consolidated products and services adapted to the needs of "everyone" taking into account universal accessibility.
For this reason, incorporating universal accessibility into the strategy to develop services and products can create environments for everyone, opening the doors to a segment with high potential from the point of view of demand.
